We have created a simple guide to make the costume of your dreams. Follow these DIYs and prepare to be paparazzi ready! Don’t see your choice on our list? Don’t worry, most of these are easily adaptable just by switching up the colors and hairstyles.

Rock Trick or Treat Night as Bon Jovi!

Bon Jovi is a rock icon. He is famous for his simple”laid back” apparel of blue jeans, black boots, and a leather jacket… Whether you’re a boy or a girl, this costume is perfect if you want to keep it simple.

First, you will need to find a pair of tight fit (skinny jeans or jegging) acid wash blue jeans your mom doesn’t mind you roughing up a bit. Once you have them, it’s time to get to work. What you will need:  A pair of scissors, sandpaper, and a few rocks from the backyard. Place the rock under the knee of the pants, and rub sandpaper over the fabric on top. Once you are satisfied with the result, it’s time to move on to the shirt. All you need is a plain white t-shirt. If you don’t own one, there are a lot of choices online. Next, grab a pair of scissors and cut the neck into a v shape and cut off the sleeves. To complete the top part of your costume, you need a black leather motorcycle jacket. Amazon has TONS of choices to select from. Bonus: you’ll own an awesome jacket that goes with everything! The final touch is a pair of awesome black cowboy boots. Once you are dressed, practice your rocker stance and you’re good to go!

Pay Homage to David Bowie

This look is a lot of fun to create, as there are many faces of this world icon. This look embraces all the qualities that make up Ziggy Stardust. You will need some pinstripe leggings or pants like these and a striped shirt to match. Once you have acquired these, you are going to make some shoulder pads!  Grab your parent, a sewing machine, and follow this wiki on easy sewn shoulder pads. Here’s the fun part! GLITTER. You will need a metallic gold (or silver) and some craft glue. Go ahead and go next level with the amount of glitter, you want to stand out, right? Allow to dry and voila, shoulder pads. Now we need to accessorize. A red leather belt adds just the right touch. Then, on a piece of red felt trace out and cut a red lightning bolt and glue to the center of the belt. Now, you need shoes! Red Boots to exact. For your hair, you can go the easy route and just buy a wig. This one is perfect! To complete this look, you will need to have a friend or parent help you paint the lightning bolt onto your face. This tutorial has everything you need!

Slash from Guns’n’Roses

Just like the Bon Jovi tutorial, this look is also very simple. All you need is some baggy blue jeans, black tennis shoes, and a motorcycle jacket. To create Slash’s jacket, you will need a black faux leather jacket and some studs. Grab this rhinestone kit and a glue gun (remember, glue gets very hot, so ask a parent for help first!) Then just glue the stones all along the collar, using as many as you can, the flashier, the better. Once your jacket is complete, search your closet for a fun tee shirt like this one. Any vintage looking shirt is suitable. If Slash is remembered for anything, it’s his crazy hair! If you don’t already have curly black hair, a wig will suit just fine. To make it easier on you, we found this wig and top hat set that will work just right! Finally, grab some awesome dark shades and get ready to rock.

She doesn’t wear a lot of makeup for this look, just add some pink blush your cheeks and some false eyelashes. Now, all that’s missing is the paparazzi!
