What is Make Music Day?
Make Music Day is a free global celebration of music on June 21st. Founded in France in 1982, the holiday has spread throughout the world and is now celebrated in more than 120 countries. In the U.S., the presenting sponsor is the NAMM Foundation. “In this time of social distancing, music’s powerful role to bring us together as a community is more important than ever,” said Make Music Alliance President Aaron Friedman. “While physical public gatherings may not be currently accessible, we can still stay connected and celebrate music with people around the world on June 21.” For more information about Make Music Day, visit MakeMusicDay.org.
