Taylor Guitars, the renowned builder of premium acoustic guitars, and D’Addario, the world’s premier guitar string maker, have joined forces in an exciting collaboration. The partnership combines decades of innovation and expertise, and involves Taylor’s transition to D’Addario’s premium XS coated Phosphor Bronze guitar strings. The collaboration will elevate the acoustic guitar-playing experience to new heights, incorporating Taylor’s award-winning performance and playability with D’Addario’s iconic tone, comfort, and durability.

Taylor’s U.S.-built models, including the 400 Series and Builder’s Edition 814ce, will be strung with XS Phosphor Bronze strings immediately, while Mexico-built Taylor guitars will transition to the new strings in the summer months.

The decision is based on the XS line’s superior performance benefits, including tuning stability, long-lasting string life, durability, and a smooth feel due to the ultra-thin coating process. Taylor’s decision to adopt D’Addario’s XS strings is based on their consistency, great response, and ability to produce a musical sound with pitch accuracy, dynamic range, and sustain.

The joint efforts between the two companies in the past resulted in the development of a specially designed D’Addario nylon-core string for Taylor’s GS Mini Bass.
