Learn Ukulele: The Perfect Instrument for Summer Fun

What is a Ukulele?
Did you know? The Ukulele is actually a member of the lute family of stringed instruments. It’s origin in the late 19th century and introduction into the Hawaiian culture can be dated back to late August of 1879. In the early 20th century, the ukulele became more popular around the world. It was introduced to the United States mainland popular culture by a guitar and ukulele ensemble called George E. K. Awai and his Royal Hawaiian Quartet. Fascinated? Is it difficult to learn?
It’s not as hard as you might think. Though very similar to guitars, Ukuleles are much smaller, and they tend to be easier to play. Because ukuleles have fewer strings, they are able to play fewer notes, which makes them a bit easier to master for anyone who is new to learning music. We asked a few of our Ukulele instructors at Music & Arts what they thought about learning the Ukulele. Here’s what they had to say:
